How to develop a money making mindset

I often get people asking me, 'Kieran, how can I make money online?' Some people are just drawn to the possibilities of making money whilst staying at home with the kids; some people want to make money online by using the simple tools found in a blog; some people just want fast, easy money online. But the truth is, everyone who is either looking for an online opportunity that will either make them extra income or will one day enable them to retire has to face up to one simple fact: there are a 1001 ways to make money online. So it isn't a lack of choice that holds people back. From e-bay through to clickbank through to your own e-book or website there are countless ways to make it online.

So why do over 90% of people fail? Well let's be honest here: most of the people trying to make it online are good, decent, hard working men and women who aren't afraid to put their shoulders to the wheel. So how come so many fail? Ask that question to one of the seasoned marketers out there and they will probably mention info overload, not enough actions steps and so forth.

But in my experience - and I have been working successfully in Internet Marketing for over two years now - the mindset is EVERYTHING. If you haven't got the right mindset then you are up against it. You see, you have to face up to to one thing and that is.....your own fully automated Inner Saboteur. This is what your Inner Saboteur says to you when you experience failure:

FAILURE: 'I am a failure; I will never make it; I will fail.'

Now failure isn't a bad thing. Think about it. When you first learnt to ride a bycycle when you were a kid, you went and fell off several times - remember? But back then your Inner Saboteur was up against one of your most important allies - your own youthful optimism. So what did you do when you fell off the bike? You got back on again and in the end you cracked it. Why? Well because back then when you were an innocent kid you didn't see it as a 'failure' - you saw it as EXPERIENCE.

And believe me, that is a crucial difference. Failure was just experience and nothing more. You didn't affix a label to it and then use this label to beat yourself up. You LEARNT and then got on with things.

Of course you need strategies, the right training and so forth in order to make money online but the one thing you need in order to overcome the Inner Saboteur is the ability to get in contact with your 'Inner Millionaire'. And that takes a mindset not so different from the time when you were a gung-ho kid who met the world with a fresh mindset free from negative self-image.

Starting today, every time you think you haven't got what it takes to make it online just dig out your bycycle and remember there was a time when you couldn't even sit on it without falling off.
